چکیده

This study assessed the adsorption capacity of different activated carbons produced from peanut shell for S3B dye (Sunfix Red 150%) present in wastewater under contact conditions. The pre-impregnation input material by ZnCl2 (weight ratio 1:1) increased surface charge carbon to positive value; While non-impregnation and post-impregnation procedures had negative charge. optimal conditions were at pH 5 with 10 g/L original , 180 minute contacting time. Under conditions, pre-impregnated highest capacity, corresponding to80.2% removal; while two other types obtainedabout 40% removal. process suited Freundlich isotherm model (multilayer adsorption) KF constants being 0.0377, 0.3314 0.0523 non-, pre- post-impregnated carbons, respectively.

Adsorption of acid dye onto activated carbons prepared from agricultural waste bagasse by ZnCl2 activation.

A series of activated carbons were prepared from agricultural waste sugarcane bagasse by chemical activation with zinc chloride (ZnCl2) as an activating agent at 500 degrees C and 0.5 h soaking time. The Langmuir surface area and total pore volume were used to estimate the average pore diameter of the carbon products. The values of the surface area and pore volume increased linearly with increa...

Activated carbons prepared from peanut shell and sunflower seed shell for high CO2 adsorption

Biomass wastes are considered as cost-effective and sustainable precursors to prepare activated carbons for CO2 capture. In this study, two biomass-derived activated carbons were prepared using peanut shell and sunflower seed shell, and the optimal activated carbons were obtained at low KOH/carbon ratio of about 1. The peanut shell derived activated carbon (P-973-1.00) and sunflower seed shell ...

Activated carbons application to remove nonionic surfactants from wastewater produced by an Italian metallurgic plant.

The performance of different activated carbons for the removal of nonionic surfactants from metallurgic wastewater was assessed through lab scale experiments. Two different matrices were used: a simple one, obtained by dissolving different amounts of a single nonionic surfactant (Triton X100) in distilled water, and a complex matrix, prepared as above but using surfactants-free wastewater from ...

Removal of Heavy Metals from Dye Effluent Using Activated Carbon Produced from Coconut Shell

The ability of activated carbon produced from coconut shell to remoe mercury Hg (II), Lead Pb (II) and Copper Cu (II) from dye effluent was investigated. The activated carbon was produced through chemical activation processes by using zinc chloride (ZnCl2). The adsorption capacity was determined as a function of adsorbent dosage. The adsorption Isotherms of the studied metals on adsorbent were ...

Decolorization of Blue CL-BR dye by AOPs using bleach wastewater as source of H2O2.

This research was focused on the investigation of the efficacy of advanced oxidation processes (Fenton, ozonation and UV/H2O2) for decolorization of reactive azo dye (Blue CL-BR) using bleach wastewater as possible source of H202. All the experiments were performed on the laboratory scale set-up. The results showed that colour removal efficiencies by UV or bleach (H2O2) alone were not so effici...
